How to set up your Soundsuit Player Interactive and start playing music

Follow this step-by-step guide to connect your Soundsuit Player Interative, pair it with your Soundsuit music zone, and start playing music in your business.
 

Setting up your player is straightforward. You'll use two apps, each with a different purpose:

• Soundsuit × Octavio app: Used to set up your player, connect it to your network, and pair it with a Soundsuit music zone.
• Soundsuit app: Used for everyday music playback, including selecting music, controlling volume, managing playlists and stations, and configuring music schedules.

Once your player is configured, you can manage your music directly from the Soundsuit app without having to reopen the Soundsuit × Octavio app.
 

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

• Your Soundsuit Player Interative and its power supply.
• A smartphone or tablet to complete the setup.
• An available network connection for your player.
• An active Soundsuit account.
• Role access to the Soundsuit music zone you want to connect to your player.

You'll also need to install the two apps mentioned above.

Step 1 — Connect your Soundsuit Player Interactive

1. Place your player near your audio system and a power outlet.
2. Connect your player to its power supply.
3. Make sure the player is powered on and ready for configuration.

Your player must be connected to your network and configured before you can start streaming music.

Step 2 — Install the Soundsuit × Octavio app

The Soundsuit × Octavio app is your setup and configuration tool.

1. On your smartphone or tablet, scan the QR code provided in the setup guide to download the app.
   
   
    
2. Install and open the Soundsuit × Octavio app.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect and configure your player.

The app will guide you through the initial configuration process.

Important: This app is primarily used for setting up and troubleshooting your player. It is not the app you'll use for everyday music playback.

Step 3 — Pair your player with a Soundsuit music zone

During the setup process, you'll be prompted to select a Soundsuit music zone.

A music zone is an area of your business where you want to play and control music independently, such as your main store area, the reception area of your hotel, the lounge area of your hotel, etc.

To pair your player:

1. Continue through the configuration steps in the Soundsuit × Octavio app.
2. When the "Pair a zone" screen appears, review the available music zones.
3. Select the zone you want to associate with your player.
4. Follow the remaining instructions to complete the pairing process.

Your Soundsuit Player Interactive will now be associated with the selected music zone.

Tip: If your business has multiple music zones, make sure you choose the correct one. This ensures that the right music plays through the right audio system.

Step 4 — Open the Soundsuit app

Once the setup is complete, the Soundsuit app should open automatically, provided it's already installed on your smartphone or tablet.

If the app doesn't open automatically:

1. Open the Soundsuit app manually.
2. If you haven't installed it yet, download and install it.
3. Sign in using your Soundsuit account credentials.

From this point onward, you'll use the Soundsuit app to manage your music.

Step 5 — Select your paired music zone

In the Soundsuit app:

1. Navigate to the Location section.
2. Select the music zone you paired with your Soundsuit Player Interative.
3. Check the Playback Device section.

Your Soundsuit Player Interative should appear as the playback device for the selected zone, with a connected status.

This confirms that Soundsuit is connected to your player and ready to control music playback.

Tip: If you manage several zones or locations, always verify that you've selected the correct zone before starting or modifying music playback.

Step 6 — Choose your music and start playing

You're ready to play music!

In the Soundsuit app:

1. Go to the Search section to explore the available music.
2. Browse music recommendations, genres, moods, and business types.
3. Select the music you want to play.
4. Start playback.

Your selected music will play through the Soundsuit Player Interative associated with your music zone.

You can also use your existing Soundsuit playlists and stations.

Step 7 — Control your music from the Soundsuit app

Once playback has started, you can manage your music directly from the Soundsuit app.

Available controls and features include:

• Play and pause: Start or temporarily stop music playback.
• Volume control: Adjust the music volume.
• Music selection: Choose music suitable for your business and atmosphere.
• Playlists: Play and manage your Soundsuit playlists.
• Stations: Select and manage your personalized music stations.
• Schedules: Configure your music programming according to the time of day.

You can access these features without returning to the Soundsuit × Octavio app.
